i-Cite BioTek Innovation Accelerator

The i-Cite AcceleratorTM allows you to quickly and easily specify new ways to analyze a medical image data set. Innovation of new detection, screening, classification and diagnostics aids is simplified and expedited.
  • Methods are created as flow charts. No script coding, macro coding or text programming is needed.
  • A wide range of microscopic and macroscopic images from any medical imaging instrument can be analyzed.
  • In addition to the wide (and growing) range of current i-Cite AcceleratorTM functions, open source functions can be used.
  • Biomedical researchers, educators, students and clinical investigators can easily and quickly innovate image information extraction methods.

How easy is the i-Cite AcceleratorTM to use?

Flow Chart
The creation of a analysis solution is "as easy as 1-2-3".

1. Chose a process step. The step can determine cell routing, sizing, morphology, or other features. "Help" describes the step in medical subject matter terms.

2. Connect the steps, using a cursor.   Color coded connections indicate how to connect the steps.

3.Either continue to "sketch" the method flow chart or else select "Go" to observe the image processing results of what has been sketched so far.

Connections Conventions:
Yellow = image data
Blue = control data
Green = path to next step if step succeeds
Red = path to next step if undesired result occurs
The i-Cite AcceleratorTM is a configuration of the proven i-CiteTM software platform. The i-Cite AcceleratorTM enables biomedical investigators to quickly and productively invent, improve and apply new image analysis and measurement methods to aid detection, screening, classifying, and diagnosing medical conditions.

The unique strength of the i-Cite AcceleratorTM is that it enables medical specialists to rapidly innovate new image analysis methods.  Analysis construction with  i-Cite AcceleratorTM is visual and intuitive. The i-Cite AcceleratorTM platform is NOT merely another image processing software package. It is an analysis-method innovation accelerator that uses a flow charting icon paradigm to enable the medical specialist to simply "draw" a new or modified method within minutes.

The newly specified method can immediately and automatically execute on any desired image data set, using whatever flowchart-icon steps that have been selected and connected. Each flowchart step directly invokes one or more already existing or newly added algorithmic functions from open sources or from the i-Cite AcceleratorTM itself. It can accelerate knowledge development across the medical specialty spectrum including:

Pathology - Radiology - Microbiology - Hematology - Dermatology - Allergology

Wide scope of  Medical Value

Any 2D, 3D, 4D and 5D data set can be used as input to the i-Cite AcceleratorTM.  These multidimensional data sets refer to spatial dimensions, time dimensions in video or time-lapse sequences, and the multiple illuminations dimension provided by multiple wavelengths. The i-Cite AcceleratorTM is being implemented to be general in its ability to speed up innovation of new and improved methods for extracting information from any type of image data.

Biomedical researchers, educators, and practitioners may quickly compose and refine their innovations, with minimum concern for computer details using the i-Cite AcceleratorTM.

The examples below illustrate just a few of the diverse applications of the i-Cite AcceleratorTM.
A video sequence of dental neuronal growth patterns can be analyzed.

A time lapse sequence of stem cell migration during a study of apoptosis can be tracked. Polylactic acid and bioimplantable tissue scaffold re-route blood supply away from a tumor issue thereby killing its cells.

Analysis of time lapse sequence of an E. Coli bacteria culture growing in a laboratory can be studied.

Malignanct Tissue
Prostate cancer tissue samples can be analyzed for malignancy.

Macroscopic images as well as microscopic images can be rapidly analyzed.
