Coherix Receives Henry Ford Technology Award

Ann Arbor, Mich. -  Coherix, a high-tech firm based in Ann Arbor Michigan, was honored by Ford Motor Company with its prestigious Henry Ford Technology Award at its annual gala on November 19, 2009.

Coherix was honored for its development of ShaPix 3D High Definition Holography for measurement addressing a strong Powertrain need by Ford. This recognition is Ford’s highest technical achievement award. Coherix and Ford implementation team members were acknowledged for their efforts in the manufacturing category.

"Coherix is extremely honored to be recognized with this highest level Henry Ford Technology Achievement Award,” noted Dwight Carlson, chairman and CEO of Coherix. 

The development of Coherix's patented ShaPix Holographic technology has truly been an extremely close collaboration.

This exceptional achievement recognizes a capability to develop containment and process control solutions for Powertrain Manufacturing. Coherix ShaPix products provide high definition topographic information for complete surfaces, with sub-micron resolution and very fast cycle time.

“The first installation of ShaPix occurred in 1997,” Carlson said. “We are very proud and appreciative of Ford's investment to assist Coherix in commercializing the power and effectiveness of holography in a cost effective manner. I also would like to recognize Universigy of Michigan Professor Emmett Leith for inventing the first hologram."
